Start with the patients you will care for and the support around you. The clinical role, clinic team and day-to-day systems should make it clear how you can contribute to continuing care in the community.
Start With Patient Care
Our vision is for holistic care that considers the person, their circumstances and their needs over time. For an anchor doctor, this means taking an interest in the community the clinic serves and building relationships through attentive care and follow-up.
A conversation about the role should begin with your clinical experience, the kind of practice you value and the patients you would care for. It should also cover how you will work with the clinic team and what support will be put in place around you.
Build Continuity Into Everyday Practice
Continuity is a priority in the ongoing life of a clinic as well as during a handover. Our aim is to support the relationship between patients, their doctor and the team they know as their needs change.
When a clinic joins En Medical, we work with the outgoing doctor and existing staff to understand its patients and routines. That knowledge helps the incoming doctor learn the practice and approach changes thoughtfully.
Understand The Team And Systems Around You
We build the right support around each clinic, including clinic management, clinic assistants and locum support suited to the practice. Accounting, marketing and other agreed operational work sit alongside that team.
Our operating systems and infrastructure are introduced across clinics as the group grows. The practical conversation is about who will coordinate the working day, how concerns are raised and how the team supports the doctor’s focus on patient care. Clinical judgement remains with the treating doctor.
Develop Your Interests Over Time
For doctors interested in the business of healthcare, we are happy to share our experience and involve them in running and developing a clinic. The level of involvement can reflect their interests, experience and agreed role.
Doctors interested in ownership can also explore flexible equity arrangements, including shares issued over time on individually agreed terms.
Questions For A First Conversation
A useful starting point is the care you want to provide and the working environment that would support you. These questions can help make the opportunity concrete.
- Which community would I serve, and what would my clinical role involve?
- How would I work with the existing doctors and clinic team?
- What management, staffing and operational support would be put in place?
- How could I contribute ideas about the patient experience or explore other interests over time?
